2nd Annual Galentines Brunch
Did you know February 13th is Galentine's Day? If you watch NBC's Parks & Rec, you do!
The show's main character, Leslie Knope is an avid supporter of girl power and loving your fellow lady friends, and created the holiday on the show, which has grown into an actual holiday with a cult following. It's all about ditching the husbands and boyfriends to celebrate your friendships; a Valentine's Day for your girls.
This year marks the second annual Galentine's Day I've thrown, and this year was the funnest yet. Eight ladies, some of whom already knew each other and others who met (and became friends!) yesterday, met for brunch at one of my favorite Phoenix eateries, North Italia. Mimosas, Zucchini chips, Artichoke hearts, French toast, lemon doughnuts and a salad for me (booooo New Years Resolutions) were the tasty fare that accompanied lots and lots of laughter <3
Here are some shots I took of our brunch set up. The table had pink poof balls scattered on it with X's and O's and glitter hearts. My bestie Kara and I put succulents in painted pots for take-home gifts, but we missed on sizing and the succulents were way too small for the pots I bought. Oops!
Here is the potted version of the succulent. I plugged the bottom hole with a sticker and just dipped each pot into lilac paint. Then I used a heart-shaped hole puncher and made glitter hearts that I glued to kebob skewers and stuck 'em into the soil. I think they turned out pretty cute!
Happy Galentines AND Valentines Day!
Hope your day is special no matter who you're spending it with <3
